Reverend Alvin Carlisle

Pastor Alvin E. Carlisle is the senior pastor of Exodus United Baptist Church, in Winston Salem, NC. He is a native of Goldsboro, NC. Pastor Carlisle is a graduate of Winston Salem State University and A Master of Divinity Student at Hosanna Bible College Durham, NC. Pastor Carlisle teaches and preaches, demonstrating a hunger for truth fueled by his passion for the Word of God.  Pastor Carlisle began his public ministry while serving at the True Temple Holiness Church. Through his years of service there Pastor Carlisle served in various ministry posts and was licensed to minister the Word in June, 1992 and ordained an elder of the church, April 1995.  While serving at True Temple, Pastor Carlisle met and married Alice Cameron, they reside in Winston-Salem with their sons Alvin III and Alex. Pastor Carlisle is the former pastor of A Resting Place Church in Winston-Salem, NC, which he founded in August, 1998, along with his wife, Minister Alice Cameron Carlisle. The ministry God has given Pastor Carlisle has taken him throughout North Carolina, various other states and the Caribbean; bringing truth and understanding throughout the Body of Christ.  He is a sought-after preacher, workshop facilitator, conference presenter. Pastor Carlisle is known for his work in the Winston Salem community as an activist and agent for social change.  He has collaborated with and within various organizations to address justice reform, inequality in education, poverty, fair housing and many other issues that challenge the greater Winston Salem community.
